I wrote this Peer review of Audrey’s blog entry on Richard III.
Audrey,
You are so right when people do not stand up and speak. Or if they do stand up and speak, they do so when it is too late. The American public protested the election of Donald Trump. England protested about Brexit. If they had protested in the polls instead of being Blase about things, then the citizens of those countries would not be living in fear of the outcome of their complacency or inactivity.
I am so glad that we live in a country where we are free to protest. Even if the government doesn’t listen to us, Sometimes though, the people are deceived by the moral panic created by politicians and others with hidden agendas. People tend to believe whatever they are told by the leaders of their preferred political party. In the U.S, people vote by personality not policy.
People everywhere are ill informed. We live in an age where communication of information is easiest to do, but it is abused, manipulated with false news, alternate truths and cover ups. People need to be more investigative in their attitudes before forming an opinion on a topic.
OK, I am stepping off my soapbox now.
Blessings
Dave
