I made some of the colours more solid. I got rid of the grey leaf. I gave the edges of the leaves definition. Finished.
Having done the leaf outlines in paint in stage 4, I have filled them in with various tones and mixes of reds, browns, yellows and olive green. The final stage will be to strengthen some of the colours, finalise the outlines with fine lines for the edges and veins of the leaves and put some highlights in.
Putting some base colours down for outlines, veins and some experimenting with greens. Don’t worry, it will look good soon.
“Among the gumtrees”
Put in details on house, moved windmill and fixed. Need to do some final touches on trees and bush between the buildings. Should finish in the morning.
Putting in major shapes like buildings, grassland, some colour brightens up the painting and the reflections in the water. Need to out in some finer details, repaint windmill structure, some leaves then it will be finished, but that comes after lunch.
Added some basic tree like shapes along with leaves, basic windmill tower shape, some reeds, shoreline of lake and some reflections. That’s most of the dark paintwork done. Now to add some light and other features.
Landscape I am doing today has a stormy overcast sky above a lake with a couple of houses, some trees and a windmill. I thought I would show you in stages how I am painting it.
I started with a white canvas and have added various mixes of grey for the background colour, applied in circular motions with a number 10 round brush. I added a darker shoreline in the centre and the bottom of the canvas.
It is finished!
“Knock and it shall be”
Put in some detail, changed some colours. Worked about 4 hours on this today.
