Today the Sydney Sketchgroup met to sketch the Sydney Buddha in Carriageworks. The darker of the Buddhas was made from gathered ashes of incense that was burned in temples all over Asia.

The building housing the Buddhas is part of Sydney Carriageworks which is the site of the old train maintenance depot. It has been restored and is now reused by various art galleries etc and for exhibitions needing a large space. The Everleigh railyards also house a farmers market, and while I didnt take any photos of that, it was a spectacle and worth a return visit to buy produce and take some more photos.

I will post my sketches in a separate post.
